The Bluefin Trevally is one of the most beautiful and aggressive predators inhabiting the tropical waters of the Seychelles. Easily identified by its shimmering silver body, electric-blue dorsal area, and striking blue fins, this species is both a visual delight and a thrilling catch for anglers. Adults can grow up to 80 cm and weigh over 15 kilograms, delivering powerful and fast runs when hooked.
Bluefin Trevally are typically found near coral reefs, lagoon entrances, sand flats, and rocky drop-offs, where they hunt schools of baitfish. In the Seychelles, they are common around Mahé, Praslin, La Digue, and the remote outer islands, particularly in areas with rich reef ecosystems.
